Who we are...

CareFree Home Health and Companions is a private duty home health agency committed to providing quality medical and personal care in the home. Our goal is to help our clients maintain their independence and quality of life. We proudly serve the people of Rockingham, Augusta, Page, and Shenandoah counties and the cities of Harrisonburg, Staunton, and Waynesboro. Our Nursing Assistants, LPNs, and RNs are available 4 – 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our elite staff are trained in adult care including special care for those with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. We are also experienced in pediatric nursing care. All staff are bonded and insured, and CareFree Home Health is licensed by the Virginia Department of Health. We were very lucky to be referred to Carefree Home Health by our pediatrician. Since becoming part of the Carefree family 13 years ago, we have had only the best home nursing care for our daughter. Carefree provides experienced and caring nurses every day and every night. They accompany her to school or the mall, or just stay at home. The Carefree Home Health nurses are fantastic. They also interact well with the other services we use, such as respiratory, physical and occupational therapy. We consider our Carefree nurses as the number one member of our team.

When my parents needed help, I researched all of the services in Harrisonburg - this included a comparison of administration, costs and personal references. We've been using Carefree for several years now and couldn't be happier. Their caregivers are cheerful, compassionate, and industrious. The administration has been understanding of any issue we've had, been easy to work with, and have been super responsive in getting things done for us, and alerting us to any needs. Living out of town, this means a lot to me. Carefree costs a little more, but it is well worth it. I would definitely recommend.

First for my brother, who has needed physical assistance due to injuries from a car accident as a young man, and later for my mom (79), who had a stroke in 2013.
